Caravels

I'm so inactive because school's getting rough right near the end, I hope you guys understand, I'm really sorry, I mean really really sorry. Just kidding, I'm not except to you laydeez out there, WASSUP!? Anyways this is Caravels, they asked us to blog about them, which means that ohnoimlateforschool is getting Oh So PoPuLaRrRrR. In reality I meant to blog about them a while ago because they're sweet as hell, and better yet they're coming to Tucson Arizona, which I'm not going to miss because I live in Tucson Arizona (REPRESENT!). Side note - bands that come to Tucson are the best types of bands. Where are my manners? Caravels are a 5-piece post-hardcore band from Nevada, Las Vegas. They are definitely another one of the refreshing bands you can listen the hell out of and still not be sick of their stuff. Their new song on their myspace shows they're moving in a great direction too. A little extra information about this band could consist of that this picture has a nice random pair of legs in it, that's because Caravels played their set to that guy and the top part of his body exploded, and then they were all like, "hey what's going on here?" and then they spray painted "Welcome 2 Hell" on that car that they found because they're really METAL! Anyways, I'm getting boring and am going to let you hear this stuff because I've been secretly holding it for myself because I'm selfish and I feel bad.

Wavelets

Wavelets are a band from Florida. All the members play instruments. With that being said, they remind me alot of Snowing and Grown Ups which is a very good thing. This is so underappreciated. They put all of their stuff up on their blog. You're probably lazy though so I took the liberty of putting it all into one mediafire link. More people need to get into them.

This Time We Will Not Promise And Forgive

This Time We Will Not Promise And Forgive are a Japanese emo/screamo band. I don't know anything about them. They might share members with Killie. I think I read that somewhere. Sorry about the tracklisting, it was all in Japanese and that's how I came across it.

Prawn

My bad for not updating for a week. No real excuse, just didn't feel like it. Anyways, Prawn are an amazing band from my area. They somewhat sound kind of like Explosions In The Sky and some emo band. They gave out this awesome demo for free. The files won't work with the music player we use so you can either check out their myspace, or you can just believe me when i say that this band is awesome and download it anyways.

Palmkite

Palmkite is an emo band out of New York. There's something different about them and I don't know what that thing is. I can't stop listening to Is Any Of You Guys Mike? The entire demo is good though. You'll be into it. They released the demo on their bandcamp. I uploaded it anyways just in case you guys...preferred that.

Big Kids

Well I'm allowed to post this now since the album was released. You're about to get the hell informed out of you again. Big Kids are a three-piece band out of Oakland California who are made up of two Spires players, Jason and Brum, and one longtime friend of the band Al Paca who toured with Spires this last summer. The band started in October and consisted of only Al Paca and Jason but around early January the duo asked Brum to tag along to play some punk/hardcore tunes. Big Kids formed in order to make music and be able to visit old and new pals all over the country (tip for all bands). Anyways, in January they recorded songs with Jack from Comadre at the Atomic Garden Studios, and the results are bananas. Those songs will be released as a full length on tape and cd by Mountain Man records and Pissart Records late March. They'll be touring the west coast in March with
Edhochuli from Pennsylvania and hope to be touring the east coast by summer but I just hope they come to Arizona (Tucson in particular). Also in very very very up to the minute news, Big Kids are going to tour the U.S. in July with 1994!

I absolutely love this release, I can't stop listening to it. I also love albums where I have absolutely no idea what song to give as a sample because they're all so good. I had the opportunity to talk to them and they're all for putting out music so everyone can hear it and everyone can enjoy it, they're really cool guys. These guys are going to be big.

Anyways, without further adieu, here's their 8 song release.

Did you see how I didn't really change anything and I just reposted what I said before?

Beach Fossils

Ross and I are really into Beach Fossils. By now you should be too. The Brooklyn quartet is kicking out some unbelievably catchy jawns. Here's the long awaited LP which we somehow got our hands on. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do and please buy this LP. It's being released on Captured Tracks later this month.
